Scholarships & Financial Aid offers academic scholarships for incoming freshman admitted to the Fall semester. Only Fall admits are reviewed for scholarships. You may apply for all University level scholarships through the Common App. The scholarship deadline for Fall admits is December 1. Applying for scholarships is a simple two-step process.
Step 1: Complete the Online Application and Provide Consent
- Complete the admission and scholarship applications on the Common App.
- Students must provide consent for application data to be used for scholarship consideration at the time of application. Students who decline will not be considered for scholarship opportunities through Texas A&M University. Once the application is submitted, it cannot be revised.
- The application opens August 1, and closes December 1*.
*If the deadline falls on a weekend, the application will remain open until 11:59 PM (CST) on the following Monday.
Step 2: Submit Supplementary Materials
You should submit the following materials to complete the application process. All items should be received by the application deadline of December 1.
- Essays. Essay A is required for admission and scholarship consideration. Applicants for the Terry Foundation Scholarship must complete an additional leadership essay in the admissions platform on the Common App).
- Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR). All freshman applicants must complete a Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) using their official high school transcript through the Office of Admissions. Scholarships & Financial Aid will not accept documents required for admissions. Visit the Additional Required Documents section of the Office of Admissions’ website for more information. All other admission documents should be uploaded via the Applicant Information System or sent through the mail.
- Optional - SAT I or ACT Score. Due to the impact of COVID-19 on testing opportunities, Texas A&M University will not require test scores from students applying for the Fall 2023, Fall 2024, or Fall 2025. Sending test scores will not create any advantage nor disadvantage for students who provide them for University scholarships. Scholarships & Financial Aid does not accept any documents required for admissions. Some partner donors do utilize SAT or ACT scores in their review. All test scores and other admission documents should be uploaded via the Applicant Information System or sent through the mail.
- Texas A&M University’s SAT school code is 6003; the ACT code is 4198.
- Letters of Recommendation. Letters of recommendation will not be accepted or considered for scholarships unless specifically requested by Scholarships & Financial Aid. You will be contacted directly if a letter(s) of recommendation is required.
- Résumés. Resumes will not be accepted or considered for scholarships. You should report all campus and community activities, awards, honors, and/or employment directly on your Common App.
Note: Scholarship applications are available for Fall freshman admits only. Spring freshman applicants may apply using the University Scholarship application after a semester of enrollment.
