All students planning to graduate at the end of the current semester must file graduation applications for their degree(s) online through Howdy. Term specific deadlines can be found in the Application Deadlines section below or on the Academic Calendar.
When applying through Howdy, students should search for the Graduation Application and Status Check to submit their application.
This online application system will be accessible 24 hours a day, every day, until 11:59 p.m. on the day before pre-registration for the next term(s) during fall or spring semesters, or the first Friday of the second summer term during the summer. After that time, students must submit a paper graduation application to the Office of the Registrar for the current term.
A non-refundable diploma fee of $47.50 is assessed for each graduation application submitted by students in all colleges EXCEPT, College of Dentistry, Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine, College of Nursing, Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy, and School of Public Health (which are assessed a $100 graduation fee).
Students who are permitted to apply after the initial deadline (see academic calendar) will be charged an additional $50 late application fee per degree.

The final application deadline is April 28, 2026, for students who will complete requirements in the Spring semester.

Degree Requirement Verification in courses at other institutions must be provided to the Degree Audit Office by April 14, 2026 to graduate in Spring 2026. Alternate forms of documentation for previously completed transfer courses will not be accepted. The student must submit a final official transcript before the application will be accepted.
Students requesting a name change for graduation related purposes must complete a name change request before April 14, 2026, for the change to be reflected in the commencement program. Students have until May 6, 2026, to submit a name change to be reflected on the diploma.

Students who have fiscal holds with Student Business Services (SBS) will not receive their diplomas until those holds are cleared. To clear a fiscal hold, please contact SBS at sbs@tamu.edu. Once the hold is cleared, the student can email degree-audit@tamu.edu requesting that the diploma be released.

Attendance at the graduation ceremony is based on the information included in your graduation application. Degree candidates who would like to change their attendance for graduation may send an email to degree-audit@tamu.edu from their official Texas A&M email account.
